ASUS M530w

This is another entry level PDA phone but can be considered as a tough competitor for Nokia E61. It lacks the touch screen feature that is found in most of the PDAs but it has the customary QWERTY keypad. The keys are well spaced and easy to navigate. This phone runs on Windows 6 and has all standard features of the mobile OS. There is no ASUS launcher application pre-installed here. You get clear clearVue viewer for Word, Excel, PDF and other documents.
The camera and the multimedia features are moderate. There is nothing remarkable to state here. All the entry level phones will have these facilities. It supports and mp3 and video playback. It has a 2 mega pixel camera at its disposal. There are a lot of connectivity options like 3G, WiFi, GPRS and Bluetooth. But the battery life takes a toll while using these facilities. Th3 signal reception is moderate but the voice clarity is poor. Overall it gets 3.8 out of 5 in the rating scale.

Blackberry Pearl 8120

This is the latest addition to Blackberry Pearl series. This phone has a major shortcoming in the form of 3G technology which is absent in this one. But other than that, this is excellent to use and the features are outstanding. This phone is simply stunning, sleek, slim, stylish and has great feel to hold. The 2.2 inch display is good and does the job for you. The 8120 comes with a pseudo-QWERTY keypad in which there are two keys for each button. Once you get accustomed, you will hesitate to switch to other formats. Business features are the highlight of the Blackberry phones. It can handle most commonly used formats like doc, xls, pdf, etc at ease. The PIM functions are well implemented and easy to use.
The 8120 supports almost all music formats and does a good job while playing them. The bundled ear phones are of good quality. It has only 64mb of internal memory but there is a hot swap option available with a microSD card slot. The internet features are great. It supports 3G and WiFi. GPRS in this phone is of moderate quality. When it comes to signal reception and voice clarity this is the best phone ever. It also has an outstanding battery life of 4 days. Overall it gets 4.2 out of 5 points.

ASUS P750

The ASUS p750 is top of the line, 3G compatible phone that has every feature you want. The design is gorgeous and the phone looks great in a black outfit. Though it is targeted towards the business people it lacks the usual QWERTY keypad. There are five input options that are available. The XT9 works much better in predicting the words when compared to T9 dictionary. The 320 X 240 2.6 inch LCD display is good. The navigational controllers are excellent. It has good tactile feedback. The keys are well spaced out so typing the messages is not at all a problem.
This phone comes with a lot of pre-installed softwares. It includes Office 6.1, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Notes and a Calendar. It also boasts with facilities like GPS, business card reader, UR home screen, remote presenter, Java, ASUS Launcher, etc. The music formats supported are mp3, aac, aac+ and 3gp video is supported. The audio quality is good. The camera is better with 3 mega pixel but the video recording in that is of moderate quality. Internet browsing was faster and easier. Setting up WiFi was easier than many other phones. Signal reception is excellent. Battery life is for cool three days under nominal usage. Overall the phone picks up 4.1 out of 5 stars.

Sony Ericsson P1i

The P1i is the latest in the Sony Ericsson's business line, succeeding both p990 and M600 - brining in the former's functionality and the latter's form factor. Its dimensions are nearly same as that of M600 with just about a couple of millimeters thicker but with plastic finish at the sides. The OS is symbian UIQ13, which is much faster due to the 128 mb internal memory that's offered. There's no soft touch keys for easy navigation. You have to operate your stylus or finger. But I recommend a scratch-guard as soon as you buy it, because the impression on the screen are legible. The other keys in the QWERTY keypad are well spaced out and easy to use.
The 3.2 mega pixel camera is really good. It takes crisp pictures in bright environments but picture quality is moderate in the dim-lit environments. The second camera is for video calling purpose and you cannot take self-portraits using that. This phone features a business card scanner, WiFi and 3G. Internet speeds are quite satisfying. The battery life is goos. Overall the phone rates to 3.9 out of 5

ASUS p526

The P526 can be viewed as a competitor for Sony Ericsson p1i and Nokia E61.It offers good value for money as an entry level touch screen model. The handset design is very similar to p750. The p526 does not have any joystick and believes only on the touch screen. The soft menu buttons are difficult to handle. But the keys are well spaced and can be used at ease. The phone comes with Mobile Word, Excel, Powerpoint ad other PIM functions like Meeting Time Planner, Remote Presenter, business card recognizer and Java support. GPS is present but the software has to be installed to use it.
The audio quality is ok but no match to Sony and Nokia. The 2 MP camera delivers decent photographs only in the well lit environments. The phone comes with 128 mb in-built memory and can be increased with a microSD card. The net browsing and GPRS is slow. There is no WiFi. Bluetooth is a let down. It has only Bluetooth 1.2 where as its competitors have Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP technology. The signal reception is good and the battery life is moderate. Overall this phone fetches 3.5 out of 5.

Motorola Moto Q V8

The Moto Q V8 marks Motorola's entry into the highly competitive PDA cell phone market. Regarding this phone, Moto has opted for tried and tested QWERTY design. This phone is wide and hence it is easier to hold and handle when compared to E61. The Moto RAZR has helped a lot by making this phone much slimmer. The QWERTY keypad offers excellent tactile feed back and can be compared to the keypads that are available in the high end phones. The 320 X 240, 2.4 inch LCD display is a let down with only 65k colors.
The internal memory is only 40mb; this adds to the sluggishness of the phone due to the Windows Mobile. The "Documents to Go" feature comes in a preinstalled manner. This is really great. It helps us handle the word, excel and Zip files in an efficient manner. System tools include a memory manager and software manager. The multimedia facilities are mediocre. It has only a 1.3 MP camera. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, USB, GPRS, EDGE, IR, etc. The overall rating of this phone is 3.4 out of 5

Palm Treo 750

The Treo is the latest PDA phone from Palm; it promises one handed operation though its a Windows based device. The new phone is slimmer and lighter to use. The 2.5 inch LCD screen dominates the front panel. The display is crystal clear even in the bright sunlight. The navigational controller has 5 way rocker, two soft keys, four additional predefined keys. QWERTY keyboard is one of the best ever. Though it might looked to be cramped, in reality it is not so. There are only minimal chances of mistyping. This phone runs in Windows Mobile Version 6; this makes the device little slower, as the functionality increases.
This phone has new interface. The "Today Screen" shows information such as messages, email, voice mail, appointments and many more; each of which can be accessed by using the navigational keys. There are no signal issues. the speaker is clear without any echo and background noise. The camera is of moderate quality. Overall this phone is a good one to buy but the price is a bit higher. The rating for this one is 4.2 out of 5
